Why I'm Running for Sheriff

It breaks my heart to see America so divided. No one should have to live in fear of government, law enforcement, or each other.

I'm running for Sheriff of Buncombe County because I want you to be able to wake up every morning knowing that your right to life, freedom, and dignity are protected by the law.

To do this, Law Enforcement needs to be reimagined, the integrity of Basic Human Rights must be respected, and accountability has to be taken seriously.

I believe I can make this happen.

The Primary Election is March 8th, 2022. Let's work together on a campaign that will change history in Buncombe County and serve as a template for counties across America.

“There comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular, but he must take it because conscience tells him it is right.”

- Martin Luther King Jr

”It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.”

- Thomas Sowell

”The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it. Only if every single citizen feels duty bound to do his share in this defense are the constitutional rights secure.”

- Albert Einstein

”Right is right, even if everyone is against it, and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it.”

- William Penn

My Proposals for Buncombe County

Police Reform

The relationship between law enforcement and the community must be repaired. I propose creating a first ever communication training and qualification standard for Law Enforcement Officers.

Human Rights

We all have the right to freedom and equal protection of the law without discrimination. These are fundamental to our society. As Sheriff, my office will stand ready to investigate all reported violations of these rights.

It is crucial that those elected or appointed to represent and lead us are held accountable for their actions. In office, I vow to be the most accessible and transparent Sheriff Buncombe County has ever had.
